... The title LAPIS PHILOSOPHORUM (Philosopher's Stone) encompasses all aspects of this work of art: the stone garden and spiral, the crystalline geometry, the Sun Drawing. LAPIS PHILOSOPHORUM appears when the alchemist succeeds in transforming base metal into gold. For the true alchemist, transformation is not only a laboratory process, it is a journey of the soul. Through a lifetime of working with the arduous, mysterious alchemical processes, the inner journey becomes clear.
